Matt Walmsley Named 2021 Winner in the Big Award for Business

Above-and-beyond delivery for global life science organizations makes him 2021 Executive of the Year; streamlining the path to market insights that helps accelerate healthcare innovation

WATERTOWN MA December 7, 2021—SurveyHealthcareGlobus (SHG), the leader in healthcare market research data collection services and an Apollo Intelligence (Apollo) brand, announced that Matt Walmsley, SHG’s chief international officer in charge of strategy, received the 2021 Business Intelligence Group’s BIG Award for Business and was named 2021 Executive of the Year. The annual program rewards companies, products, and people that are leading their respective industries.

Healthcare market research plays a pivotal and largely uncredited role in the development of new
treatments. For over 15 years SHG has been the global market leader in primary healthcare data
collection and digital interview solutions, helping organizations to access the insights
of over two million healthcare professionals (HCPs) and conduct research among 150 different
therapeutic categories, through operations in 14 countries. Life science firms need the insights
of SHG’s physicians, nurse practitioners, managed care executives, and other stakeholders whose
feedback informs multiple aspects of new treatment development. Sourcing their highquality insights quickly and efficiently, worldwide, expedites the path to healthcare innovation.

For the past seven years at SHG, Matt Walmsley has helped to grow SHG and make its global business
unit one of the highest performing sectors of the company, growing revenue over plan thus far in
2021—a revenue plan that already set a high bar. He directed the company’s expansion into China this
year, which has helped expand SHG’s business as well. Members of SHG’s healthcare panels often
contact Matt personally with feedback about how they can more effectively share their opinions and
insights faster, smarter, and better—and Matt responds personally to every one of them.
“Matt personifies the values we live by at Apollo—devotion to our healthcare prescriber base
and communities and above-and-beyond commitment to our clients as they navigate profound change
in healthcare delivery,” said Daniel S. Fitzgerald, CEO of Apollo Intelligence. “We are delighted at this
industry recognition for SHG, Matt, and the broader Apollo team as they seek to transform
and streamline the path to high-quality healthcare insights and thus help the scientists and
researchers who are building a new tomorrow.”

“We are so proud to reward SurveyHealthcareGlobus’ Matt Walmsley for his outstanding 2021
leadership and achievements,” said Maria Jimenez, chief nomination officer of the Business Intelligence
Group. “This year’s group of winners are clearly leading by example in the global business community.”
